Security Engineer

Your role

After an extensive introduction and guidance within the infrastructure team, you will be jointly responsible for IT security within the Vandewiele group (worldwide), both on-premise and cloud.

• You provide input and support in implementing optimal security on various systems and applications (on-premise and cloud).
• You keep abreast of developments regarding external threats and proactively initiate the necessary actions and/or configuration changes.
• You manage the planning and follow-up of regular installations of security updates on all systems by the IT partners.
• You perform security audits (security scans, penetration tests...) on the IT and OT networks in the various branches and follow up on their action points.
• You monitor the security of user and administrator accounts (identity protection), application of password policies, authentication methods (MFA, biometric...).
• You monitor data security: access rights on servers and databases, data encryption on end-user devices.
• You do daily follow-up of security alerts of systems, users and applications, as well as monitoring log files, activity reports... and you take action in case of irregularities.
• You follow up reported security incidents and take the necessary actions regarding viruses, malware, spam, phishing, etc. You define and implement the necessary improvement actions.
• You actively contribute to increasing the "security awareness" of the Vandewiele group employees.

Your profile

• You enjoyed a higher education in an IT-related field and have relevant work experience.
• You have a thorough knowledge of:
  • Windows Server, Windows, Office 365
  • Network concepts and protocols
  • Firewalls, network switches

• You have experience in managing several of the following products and technologies, especially in the area of security:
  • Azure AD, Office 365, Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Online
  • Azure Cloud (networking, security, virtual servers, cloud services)
  • Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
  • Servers & storage, virtualisatie (VMWare & Hyper-V), backup (Veeam)
  • Citrix Netscaler, Virtual Apps (XenApp), Virtual Desktop (Xendesktop)
  • SCOM/SCCM/Intune
  • Powershell
  • SQL Server

• You are a team player, but can also work independently.
• You are eager to learn and focused on self-development.
• You can think things out conceptually and implement them effectively.
• You are strong in documenting policies, procedures and processes.
• You are communicative and have a customer-oriented hands-on mentality.
• You communicate fluently in English and Dutch (both spoken and written) and have notions of French.
