Van de Wiele has long been a market leader in the development, construction and installation of high-tech, innovative carpet and velvet weaving machines.

Our R&D department with international branches, is responsible for the design and integration of the various weaving machine applications, characterised by a highly dynamic behaviour due to the multitude of oscillating movements. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a CAE project engineer.

Your role

You will be part of the mechatronics group, taking the mechanical aspect to heart. After an introductory period, you will support the development department as follows:

  • You are in constant consultation with mechanical designers, drive technology engineers and your immediate CAE colleagues to shape new concepts and examine them for feasibility.
  • You draw up models of machines and submodules to predict and optimise the dynamic behaviour and loads throughout the machine.
  • You verify the models based on measurements and adjust them if necessary.
  • You check and optimise highly dynamic critical parts (gears, shafts, bearings, etc.) using FEA software and other tools.
  • You monitor technological (r)evolutions in order to implement them when sufficiently relevant.

Your profile

  • You are Master of Science in Engineering: Mechanical Engineering - Electrical Engineering
  • You have a keen interest in mechatronics and can think in a multidisciplinary way. You do not shy away from using your theoretical background and consulting a theory book in the process.
  • Knowledge of and experience in 3D-CAD systems, Matlab, FEA techniques is a plus
  • You work analytically and are able to analyse problems in order to propose a suitable solution
  • Accuracy and perseverance characterise you
  • You communicate fluently in Dutch and English and have knowledge of German and French
